X–Festival aims to bring together different worlds, to stimulate innovation through cross–overs, to explore new frontiers and horizons and to be a Big–Bang of reflection and action.

Voor de editie 2017 ligt de focus op de thema's 'Solar City' en 'Smart (eco–)city of the future'. Hoe ziet de stad van de toekomst er uit? Welke (cross–over) ideeën van vandaag leiden tot de start–ups van morgen? Hoe kunnen we creatiever omgaan met de energie van de zon? Hoe kan kruisbestuiving van verschillende disciplines de stad groener en slimmer maken?
The 2017 edition of X–Festival will focus on the themes 'Solar City' and 'Smart (eco) city of the future'. How will the city of the future look like? Which (cross–over) ideas of today will lead to the start–ups of tomorrow? How creatively deal with the energy of the sun? How can cross–fertilization of disciplines make the city greener and smarter?

X–Festival 2017 is er voor studenten, onderzoekers uit verschillende disciplines, beleidsmakers, architecten, kunstenaars, designers, ondernemers, pers en het brede publiek die geïnspireerd willen worden en de toekomst op een creatieve en out–of–the–box manier vorm willen geven.
